Accounting Software Vendor Pricing

We do not cache vendor prices because they go stale within weeks. Instead, this page links out to each vendor's own pricing page with a short fit summary, a price bracket, and a Last verified April 2026 stamp. The vendor's own page is always the source of truth.

Why this page exists

Most accounting-software comparison sites cache vendor pricing in their own tables. Those numbers go stale within weeks because vendors rename plans, restructure tiers, run promotions, and adjust regional pricing. We avoid that problem by not listing specific dollar amounts on this page at all. We use price brackets that stay accurate as vendors tweak prices within a band, and we link to each vendor's pricing page so you see the current rate at the moment you are buying.

FreshBooks

Under $20/mo entry, $20-50/mo mid, $50+/mo plus
Under $20/moLast verified April 2026

Invoice-first design with strong client portal and proposal flow. The accounting backend is intentionally simpler than QuickBooks. Best when invoicing is the daily pain point and you bill clients on retainer or project basis.

How we choose what to list

Inclusion criteria, in order:

  • The vendor is widely available to US small businesses (we do not list region-locked products).
  • The vendor publishes pricing on their own site (we do not list quote-only enterprise products on this page).
  • The product is currently active and supported (we remove discontinued products).
  • The vendor has at least one tier reasonable for a small business (we exclude pure enterprise products from this page).

We do not include vendors based on whether they offer affiliate programs. Affiliate status, where relevant, is disclosed on the link itself and on the homepage.

Comparing QuickBooks specifically?

QuickBooks is the most-searched accounting tool by a wide margin, so it gets dedicated coverage in our portfolio.
